Meet Mrs. Tweit!

My name is Angie Tweit and I graduated from Lewis Clark State College in 1993 with a degree in Elementary Education plus a Reading Endorsement.  Since that time I have taught kindergarten, first, and second grades...kindergarten being my favorite!   I believe in creating a classroom that is engaging and supportive of young children's development.  It is my ultimate goal that your child leaves kindergarten with a passion for learning and a love for our school!

Kindergarten: Mrs. Tweit's Busy Bees!

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Kindergarten 2018-19!

Back to School Night

We invite you to bring your child to visit the kindergarten classroom on Monday, August 20,  between 5:30-6:30 p.m.  This is a great time to drop off school supplies and familiarize your child with his/her new environment.  This is very informal so feel free to stop in anytime between 5:30-6:30 p.m.

The First Day of School

The first day of school is Tuesday, August 21.  Your child will need to be here at 8:10 a.m.

You can help your child make the transition by assisting with finding his/her cubby, hanging up his/her  backpack, and finding a place to sit at a table. I will have coloring pages for students to work on. Once we say the Pledge of Allegiance,  I encourage you to make your exit. Remember, “quick good-byes leave dry eyes”. ߘɼ/b>

End of School Day

The school day ends promptly at 3:00 p.m.  The kindergarten class is the first to exit the building.  If your child needs to ride a bus you will need to contact the transportation supervisor, Alvin Schmidt, at 208-289-5257.  He will assign your child to a bus route and driver.

All other kindergarten students will be waiting in front of the school next to the flagpole to be picked up.  If your child walks home or to Teresa’s Childcare, please let me know.

Morning Routine

Kindergarten students may be dropped off at the kindergarten classroom at 8:10 a.m. each morning.  Children who arrive before this time are asked to stay outside on the playground. Playground supervision begins at 8:00 a.m.   If your child needs breakfast he/she may enter the school at 7:50 a.m. and go directly to the cafeteria. As your child becomes more comfortable with school we encourage you to allow your child to walk into the classroom independently.

I believe a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary to maximize student success.

I encourage you to contact me any time you have questions or concerns.  At the end of each school day your child will bring home a red folder in his/her backpack.  Please check the folder each night for important information and samples of your child’s classroom work.  Feel free to place notes in the red folder and I will respond to you as soon as possible You can always leave a message at the school (276-3422) or email
